Jagan Timilsina

Founder / Program Director

Born and brought up in the picturesque village of Sarangkot, near Pokhara, one of the most popular tourist destination of Nepal, Jagan was introduced to the trekking culture from a young age. He forayed into the trekking world in 1998, the year which the Government of Nepal had declared to be ‘Visit Nepal Year.’ He started out as a porter and later joined Himalayan Encounters, a world renowned trekking company as a guide-cum-porter.

With every trek, Jagan’s passion for mountains grew and eventually saw him focus on a career as a mountaineer. Since 2009, Jagan has climbed 14 snow peaks, including Mount Everest. If he is not busy climbing mountains, Jagan can be found working as an instructor for outdoor activities.

Roman Evarts

Instructor / Program Co-ordinator

Roman, originally from Latvia since the young age was passionate about outdoors and sports. In 2016 he took a job in Pokhara, Nepal and fell in love with a country and the vibes of Himalayas. He joined Freedom team to share his knowledges and adventurous spirit with a young generation of uprising outdoor experts.

Backpacking, climbing and trail running skills is the things his good at.

As an Ultra Trail runner he got a success in many running races around the globe. Recently he finished 6th at the world’s most prestigious trail race – UTMB (171km). To contribute to the local running community he and the team organizing races and training camps around Pokhara.

Nepali people recognizing him on the streets as he took an episodical part in the local blockbuster movie “Prem geet 2”

Bikram Gurung

President

Bikram Gurung started as an assistant trekking guide in the adventure industry in Nepal, and since has trekked on dozens of treks. Working as a lead guide for the past five years, he has done the Annapurna Base Camp trek more than twenty times though his favorite remains Tilicho Lake. With the network, expertise and skills in the field, Bikram is able to handle the staff and their operations flawlessly at Freedom Adventure. In addition, he also ensures logistics are properly taken care of, recruitment of staff and performance evaluation.

Likewise, Bikram is also engaged in community development work, has even served as the chairperson of Annapurna Conservation Area Project from 2009 to 2014. Other tourism development and rural development activities, including road construction in desolate villages has earned him accolades in contributing to uplifting living standards of the common Nepalese people.

Arun Pariyar

Vice President

A self-starter and doer, Arun has been back in Nepal since 2013 having obtained a Bachelor’s degree from University of East London. His education has allowed him rich understanding in IT, particularly computer networks, programming and application development. However, since his return to Nepal from the UK, he has worked in travel and trekking agencies as well as hotels, particularly in customer service and managerial positions. This has instilled in him valuable skills in work etiquette, presentation and communication, analytical skill, information handling and collaboration, which he brings at Freedom Adventures.

In addition, in cross-cultural communication with clientele, maintaining team dynamics, leadership and decision-making are his forte, which he applies effectively as the operations manager at Freedom. He also handles business promotion and marketing, keeping business connections to expand business reach; training and monitoring sales staff; and overseeing customer satisfaction and implementing feedbacks to make Freedom Adventures’ packages a trip of the lifetime.

Bishal Bastola

Secretary

An enthusiastic person, Bishal Bastola has his heart in the mountains. Having worked in several international adventure companies in the sales department, he mainly develops trip packages corresponding to clients’ requirements. He communicates this to the team and prepares them to implement it in the field. Able to quickly to grasp new ideas and concepts, Bishal also develops innovative and creative solutions to challenges.

Bishal holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from La Grandee International College (Pokhara, Nepal), with specialization in Finance and Marketing. After receiving his higher education, he has been engaged in various accountancy firms, adventure companies and finally a crucial Freedom team member. His versatile approach and skills related to company operations means from Sales to Reservations to Marketing, he is able to comfortably handle company tasks with precision and efficiency.

Richard Bull

Advisor
Richard, originally from Great Britain, spent 11 happy years living in Nepal. Throughout his life, he has always spent a good amount of time in wild and strange (to him) outdoor places, and believes that there is where the answers to life’s question can be found.

Richard contributes his knowledge of communication to this organisation, to help with fundraising, and reporting of programme activities.
